About Jessica
Jessica Barker has been a NCCPA Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) since 2000. Jessica received her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of California – Santa Barbara. She completed her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Iowa Medical School. She initially worked in Neurology at Kaiser San Diego.
She was instrumental in developing and implementing a group-model of care for patients with headaches. She had an active involvement in research, serving as a co-investigator on multiple projects. Much of her research focused on the use of BOTOX® in preventing headaches. Her practice with BOTOX® for headache prevention provoked an interest in its cosmetic uses.
Upon relocating to Santa Barbara, she transitioned to working in Cosmetic Dermatology and Plastic Surgery. Jessica also received board certification in Anti-Aging Medicine in 2006. In Santa Barbara, she spent 14 years working with Dr. Douglas Mackenzie at Pacific Plastic Surgery. She was able to advance her injectable practice, as well as assist Dr. Mackenzie with pre/intra/post-operative care for his surgical patients.
In 2015, Jessica became a member of the Allergan Medical Institute Faculty. She is also an injector trainer for Versa by Revanesse and the RHA Collection by Revanesse. When she is not seeing her own patients in the clinic, she travels around California training other providers. She is a skilled injector trainer working with physicians, other PAs, and nurses across the state to help them become more confident injectors.
In March 2020, Jessica expanded her practice to a new location. She is supervised by Dr. Steven Yoelin M.D. Jessica´s education and training allows her to provide a broad range of medical services. These include administering BOTOX®/Dysport/Jeuveau, dermal filler injections, and performing micro-needling and chemical peels. She lives in Santa Barbara with her husband, two children, and her Golden Retriever dog, Charlie.
